Okay guys, I need some input here. But first, it’s story time…

I recently found out that the firm I work for is merging with a larger firm, so all of us have to redo our employee background checks and whatnot for the new company. Anyway, today I went over to Quest Diagnostics to pee in a cup for my drug screening. No big deal, right? But in retrospect, I’m starting to wonder… if the female tech who did my screening might possibly have been hitting on me.

Just bear with me for a minute here.

After I did the whole pee in a cup thing, we were sitting in this little room while she entered my info into the system and gave me papers to sign. I told her about the merger and having to do the new employee stuff again, and she asked what I did. I told her that I work at a law firm (although I’m not a lawyer) doing audit remediation and process documentation. And she said something like, “Well, thank goodness for people like you who handle all that documentation! I don’t think I could ever deal with that kind of stuff.”

I was also wearing a Star Wars t-shirt, which she told me she liked. And then just before I left, she handed me my paperwork and randomly told me her first name. Is that weird? She was like, “Yep, that’s it. Oh, and I’m Lauren who helped you today.”

Obviously none of this is terribly overt, and I may be misreading it. Plus, I’ve never really been hit on much in my life, so I might not know how to recognize it. What do y’all think? Was the female drug screening tech subtly hitting on me? I told my wife about it last night, and she just seemed amused by the whole thing, although she’s leaning toward it being fairly likely.
