Wednesday’s daily. Awhile back I mentioned that I’d set up a way for folks to support TexansChat. Here’s the scoop on how you can do that:

  • Go to https://buymeacoffee.com/texanschat
  • There are two options: Support or Membership.
    • If you choose the Support option, it will have you do a one-time choice of 1x ($5 one time) or 2x ($10 one time) or 3x ($15 one time) etc. on up to 5x ($25 one time).
    • If you want to do a Membership, that’s just a fancy word for doing a monthly or annual amount instead of a one-time option (Support).
    • With the “Membership” option, you can pay monthly as a subscription or one time as an annual subscription. You will see a per month or an annual option after choosing the $3 or $5 level, so then choose monthly or annual.
    • If you ever want to, or need to, you can go to BuyMeACoffee and cancel your monthly subscription. You can Google search with something like “cancel Buy Me A Coffee subscription” and it’ll show you how. I do believe that a one-time Annual subscription isn’t able to be canceled once it’s been paid out.
    • BuyMeACoffee doesn’t store credit card data on their servers. Payment processing is handled by Stripe (PCI Compliance Level 1), Payoneer and Wise. They also use a robust Amazon infrastructure. Cloudflare adds an additional layer of security. They also force SSL encryption across the platform.
  • Include a message and let me know your TexansChat screen name as part of your message to me. That way I can make a spreadsheet and have a column with your screen name, and a column with the respective email address. I won’t be publicizing who has contributed and who hasn’t. I’m just not a fan of that. An email/screen name list is just good for me to have in case something goes haywire with the site, but I don’t think that’s a real risk…but then again, it’s never not impossible for something to happen and I need to let people know.
    • The BuyMeACoffee entity does not email you, nor do they sell your information, so you aren’t getting spammed by them or others.
