A brief summary of last night’s preseason game:

  • Davis Mills and the 2nd team offense moved the ball well, and the offensive line looked solid.
  • Marlin Klein had a couple of nice plays. This kid could be legit.
  • Jared Wayne looked good as well, but with our crowded WR room, I doubt he makes the team.
  • Jaylin Smith had a nice hit. Hopefully he can stay healthy.
  • Kamari Ramsey had an interception (and also dropped what would have been a Pick Six).
  • Graham Mertz got injured being stupid, so we may end up signing another QB3.
  • C.J. Stroud tolerated dumb sideline interview questions about his haircut.
  • The entire second half was pretty damn forgettable. Davis Mills was clearly just trying to get through the rest of the game without getting hurt, and he had no chemistry with those 3rd and 4th string guys. As such, the offense couldn’t stay on the field, the defense got gassed (and couldn’t deal with Trey Lance running), and everyone just looked disinterested and shitty.
  • Oh, and the refs were dogshit.
