Okay mofos, the Nic Cage Memorial League will begin again soon. It’s basically set up to auto-renew, so if you played last year, you’re already set up to play again this year. Feel free to go in and change your team name or whatever, and if you’re not interested in participating for some reason, let me know and I’ll delete your team (and try to find someone else to fill the spot). Also, I need to schedule our draft, so please recommend days and times in the comments, and I’ll try to pick something that works for most people.

Howdy, neighbors! The game thread drops at 2:45pm.
We’re taking the kids to see Blue Beetle this afternoon, so I’ll schedule an overflow thread for about 4:30pm.

If anyone cares, today is my dad’s 63rd birthday. For reference purposes, other notable people born on August 16th include over-the-hill Houston Astros catcher Martín Maldonado, quirky Kiwi film director Taika Waititi, alcoholic morning show host Kathie Lee Gifford, and last but not least we have Nigel Terry, the actor who played King Arthur in John Boorman’s 1981 fantasy classic Excalibur.

Well folks, in honor of National Phillip Day, we will now honor the famous Phillips of the world: We’ve got singer and multi-instrumentalist Phil Collins, influential sci-fi author Philip K. Dick, mustachioed TV quack Dr. Phil McGraw, and the brilliant actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. But most of all, we give glory to Uncle Phil, a wealthy judge who welcomed his troubled nephew to live with his family in Bel-Air.
