I recently found out that, back in the 1930s and 1940s, there was a real professional baseball player named Johnny Dickshot. He was apparently known as the “Ugliest Man In Baseball,” and when he retired, he opened a tavern called Dickshot’s Dugout.

Crazy Stories of the Texans’ 2023 Season:
With Ka’imi Fairbairn sidelined due to injury and the Texans locked in a tight game with the Bucs, the stage was set for third-string RB Dare Ogunbowale, who nailed a tiebreaking 29-yard field goal to give the Texans a 33-30 lead with 8:45 remaining in the game. Ogunbowale became the first non-kicker or punter to make a field goal since Wes Welker on October 10, 2004 (which was also my 22nd birthday).

Crazy Stories of the Texans’ 2023 Season:
The date was January 6, 2024, and it was our final game of the regular season. Even though we had already clinched a playoff berth, we needed a Texans win and a Jaguars loss in order to secure the AFC South division title, and our record at Lucas Oil Stadium has never been worth bragging about. As the game began, the Colts gradually marched down the field to take a 3-0 lead… but then C.J. Stroud and Nico Collins got the ball. On our first play from scrimmage, Stroud hit Nico with a 75-yard bomb that the big-bodied receiver hauled in for a touchdown. The Texans ended up winning the game 23-19, and later that night, the Jags lost to the lowly BESFs (LOL!), handing us the division title at the last possible moment.

Crazy Stories of the Texans’ 2023 Season:
In our AFC Wild Card playoff game against the Cleveland Browns, DeMeco Ryans (who is a stone cold badass) literally told Christian Harris exactly what to do on the next play in order to get a pick-six. DeMeco’s prediction came true as Harris watched Joe Flacco stare down Browns TE Harrison Bryant, and then jumped the route, intercepted the pass, and returned it for a touchdown to give the Texans a 38-14 lead.

Crazy Stories of the Texans’ 2023 Season:
On September 14, 2023, at an away game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, fullback Andrew Beck muffed a Jaguars kickoff at the 10-yard line. However, Beck scooped up the muffed kick off, juked twice and made three defenders miss in the process, sprinting for the sideline while stiff-arming cornerback Tre Herndon. While running for the endzone, Beck high-stepped over diving attempts by kicker Brandon McManus and running back D’Ernest Johnson on his route to giving the Texans a 24-10 lead, thereby proving that fullbacks are indeed people too.

Crazy Stories of the Texans’ 2023 Season:
On October 15, 2023, in a home game against the New Orleans Saints, C.J. Stroud finally threw his first NFL interception, after a record streak of 192 pass attempts without one. Fortunately, that interception ended up being pretty meaningless, since the Saints fumbled on the same play and the Texans recovered for a first down. The drive ended with a TD to Dalton Schultz, and we went on to win the game 20-13.
