Aaron Rodgers to the Jets:
Monday Night Football
Ha ha, that douche Aaron Rodgers is injured already!
9-11-2023 Daily Thread
First of all… Never Forget.
Secondly, I need a little feedback from y’all. Obviously this is my first time running things during the actual season, although this first week has run pretty smoothly, as far as I can tell. Anyway, feel free to respond to any or all of the below items:
- It has been requested that I bring back the “Pregame” thread, so I’ll be sure to do so next week.
- Even though we had a lot of comments, I still think it worked out fine just having “First Half” and “Second Half” game threads (as opposed to threads for each quarter). Plus it’s easier for me. However, if someone disagrees, let me know.
- I also just used a single “Sunday Games” thread for all the other non-Texans games of the day, and that seems to have worked just fine as well. I don’t think we need to bother with both “Early Games” and “Late Games.”
- If anyone wants to contribute something, like a weekly game preview, or a weekly game recap, or a “studs and duds” thing, or some over-the-top trash talking, or just a bunch of goofy nonsense, let me know and I’ll make it part of the rotation.
Sunday Games Thread
Hang out here to talk about any other (non-Texans) games happening this afternoon.
Postgame Thread
FINAL SCORE: Ravens 25 – Texans 9
So yeah, we lost. The first half looked fairly promising, but things quickly got out of hand in the second. With a rookie QB, a piecemeal offensive line, and both of our starting safeties out, the Ravens were bound to pick up steam eventually. C’est la vie.
On the plus side, Jonathan Greenard had himself a really good game today.
Game Thread: Second Half
At the half, the Texans trail 7-6, which is actually pretty damn amazing under the circumstances. The refs have made some monumentally garbage calls, but DeMeco’s defense has been playing very well (with the notable exception of needing to wrap up on some tackles), and although the offense struggled early — especially the patchwork O-line — Stroud started clicking a bit in the second quarter.
We get the ball to start the half. Inject some Battle Red Kool-Aid, folks. Let’s f***ing go.

Sorry the thread is late. Me and the missus may or may not have been sitting on the back porch drinking past midnight.

I would just like to say that I think I made a pretty clever graphic for the TNF thread last night. Thank you.
Also, if you didn’t watch the game, the Lions beat the Chiefs. Woo hoo!
