Obviously I like to point our random “National Whatever Day” celebrations when there’s not much going on, but today is actually Bastille Day, a national holiday in France that commemorates the French Revolution, specifically the storming of the Bastille.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning comes out today. Nothing else matters. I’m seeing it tonight. Tom Cruise may be a batshit crazy space weirdo, but the dude gives 112% to every role, does insane stunts, and makes some really kickass movies.

On this day in 1933 — so 90 years ago exactly — the first Major League Baseball All-Star Game was played in Chicago’s Comiskey Park. The American League defeated the National League 4-2. Babe Ruth played right field and hit a home run.
