Remember the good ‘ol days when all we had to debate or focus upon was Bill O’Brien stuff and how HUGE that was at the time? He’s probably thankful he was fired. Amy Palcic, too. I’m sure JJ Watt is finding desert life to be enjoyable. Jamey Rootes can’t be hating life at the moment either, right? Just when you think things couldn’t get any weirder, new and more creative WTH? moments knock on the doors of Texans fans who are perpetually left holding the proverbial bag.

Silver lining: I was very proud of everyone in yesterday’s thread. There was insightful dialogue, and if there’s a more insightful online sports fan community out there…I’m not sure where it is or that it even exists like the one we have here. One of the things that I enjoy the most is how we all generally seem to exchange ideas and spark one another to deeper thought.

SI.com has an ongoing Texans tracker that is a decent outlet for you to peruse, and it includes: Dates of each transaction, a small write-up of each player, and they even detail which guys were released or which Texans FA’s moved on to other teams. Pretty nifty little hub of info, IMO.

There is a massive list of new players to discuss. The nickel CB, Desmond King, I’ve seen many fans (on twitter) of other NFL teams express shock at how little he signed for and also that they wished he was playing for their team. A+ job by Caserio, on paper, and let’s hope it translates to his production on the field of play in 2021.

MARCH 18 A NEW KING OF THE SECONDARY Of all the Texans’ recent moves, this is the one that will be remembered most come Week 1. Houston agreed to terms will slot cornerback Desmond King early on Thursday evening. The deal is to be for one year worth $3.5 million. 

King, who began his NFL career with the Los Angeles Chargers, was traded midseason to the Tennessee Titans. One of the more sure-fire tacklers at the position, King thrives inside against slot receivers and tight ends. The 26-year-old recorded 55 total tackles, two sacks, and two pass breakups last season. 

A quality signing for Houston, King will be an excellent addition to Lovie Smith’s 4-3 scheme that will run plenty of zone reads next season.
