Apropos of nothing, here’s a short video about William Marshal, who was essentially the Chuck Norris of the Middle Ages. He served under five different English kings (even training Richard the Lionheart in badassery), won more medieval tournaments than anyone else in history, kept kicking ass and taking names until he was 70 years old, and is widely considered to be the greatest knight who ever lived.
Oh, and I totally have his coat of arms tattooed on my left shoulder.

Since I’ve become the admin on this site, I’ve kinda felt like it would be bad form to advertise my books. However, I’m making an exception today, because apparently Amazon is selling the paperback edition of Camelot Fallen for only $15.00 (down from the usual $17.99). So if you’re interested in reading it and you want a discount, there’s currently one available. Thanks and gig ’em.

Ya know what? 47 Ronin, starring Keanu Reeves and Hiroyuki Sanada, is a tragically underrated movie.

My best friend and I were at a sports bar last night watching the Texas A&M vs. Tennessee baseball game (you fought hard, Ags, we’ll get ’em next year!), and at one point the TV announcers pointed out country singer Morgan Wallen in the audience. His name even flashed up on the screen. But sitting right next to Morgan Wallen, totally unmentioned, was Peyton Manning. We were bemused.

Last night I went to see Bad Boys: Ride or Die. You wanna know what it was like? Well… it was exactly what you’d expect it to be. It was a Bad Boys movie. It was a buddy cop action/comedy filled with lots of car chases, gunfights, explosions, and one-liners. If you liked the other movies in the series, you should like this one too. And while I won’t spoil anything plot-related, I would like to point out a couple of humorous cameos:
- Michael Bay, who directed the first two installments, shows up briefly as an angry Porsche driver yelling at Will Smith.
- There’s a random cameo from Khaby Lame, that guy who makes the deadpan face in all those TikTok videos.
- My favorite bit is so subtle you might miss it. In one scene, the cops have to steal some clothes from a camp of redneck “sovereign citizen” types, and Will Smith ends up wearing a Reba McEntire t-shirt. In an attempt to falsely claim the clothes belong to them, he and Martin Lawrence try to come up with a single Reba song (and fail miserably, of course). But as they’re getting away, you can hear a country version of the “Bad Boys” song playing in the background, sung by Reba herself.
