Well folks, we’re completely moved in to the new house (although we’ve still got boxes of crap everywhere), and aside from being President’s Day, today is also National Comfy Day. Personally, I intend to celebrate by wearing shorts and possibly drinking whiskey during the workday. I gotta say, it can be pretty nice working from home sometimes. Oh, and also, go Roughnecks.

I recently discovered a new beer that I really enjoy: Bull Shark Scottish Ale by Galveston Bay Brewing. You should check it out. It’s a bit smoother and less malty than, say, Founders Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale, with a lower alcohol content. Easier to drink more than one.

Also, I just found out that Travis Kelce is gonna host SNL on March 4th. Really.

On a side note, I probably won’t be around much this weekend. I moved out of my apartment and into our new rental house last Saturday, and we’re moving my fiancée and her stuff in today. So if anything goes totally off the rails, message me on Facebook or something and I’ll get to it.

It’s Friday. Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania comes out tonight. Go see it if you want, I guess.

Apparently February 15th is “National Wisconsin Day.” Really. Normally this fact would not be remotely notable for us Texans, but since our favorite son, Justin James Watt, is a proud Wisconsin Badger, it seemed worth pointing out. It’s also “National I Want Butterscotch Day.” So… ya know… ask your grandma to dig a few Werther’s Originals out of her purse.

Howdy, mofos! Today is Valentine’s Day; therefore, here are some facts about Saint Valentine:

• He is the patron saint of courtly love, epilepsy, and beekeepers.
• He was arrested for secretly performing Christian weddings for couples, thereby allowing the husbands to escape conscription into the Imperial Roman army.
• February 14th is actually the day he was executed (romantic, right?).
• Most of the legends associated with Saint Valentine were invented by Geoffrey Chaucer.

Monday’s daily. Big news to announce! Today is my last day.

AgentWD40 will be taking over TexansChat, and will be moderating the site as well as managing its daily workings. He’s going to do a great job, and we know it’s in good hands moving forward.

I figured it’s a new era with a new Texans head coach, a great fresh start for our Texans, and so it seemed fitting to coincide with that via a new era for Texans Chat. The timing feels right.

This week he and I will be working to transfer over the odds and ends of this place. I’ve invited him to be an Admin in the HyvorTalk console, so when he accepts the invitation he’ll be able to get into Hyvor and manage everything including moderation of the comments sections. I’ll be working on fully transferring the Texans Chat HyvorTalk account over to him this week.

For those who contributed funds, I’m transferring those funds over to him, as well, so please rest assured that your dollars are in his care & he’ll be using those to pay the monthly hosting and monthly HyvorTalk bills to keep Texans Chat going.

Along those same lines, this week I’ll be sorting out how to stop receiving contributions from you guys and gals. AgentWD40 can then communicate with y’all about this area of involvement that you can discuss with him and one another in the coming days and weeks.

I have a couple projects that over the past year it’s been tugging at me to be more heavily involved with my time and energy to further evolve into those interests in 2023 and beyond. The Texans Chat community deserves to have a person running it who can provide more of himself than I am able to provide, and so above all else I want the best for the best bunch of misfits I’ve ever known in all my years of being involved in various Texans-centric folks.

I’ll try to drop by and say hello, but for now I’ll be taking a leave of absence as I use my spare time getting Josh set up on numerous account transfer type tasks over the next week or whatnot. One last thing: GO TEXANS!
