Read the rest of the article for some handy tips if you’re sneaking in some Texans Chat game thread screen time in the midst of a family gathering and to do said sneaking you’re on your mobile device instead of a laptop. 🙂
- Request Desktop Version
If you’re using mobile devices today, remember that it’s a bit easier to view if you “request the desktop version of the website.” Use Google to find out how to do this on your specific type of phone (it’s not hard). - Re-Size The Page
Use the old “thumb and fore-finger” gesture on your screen to manually re-size it so that the comments text enlarges and each side (left and right margin) fills to the left and right side screen edge of your phone. - Sort Comments By Latest
Also, it’s easier if you sort the comments by LATEST so that new comments show up top instead of down at the bottom; this helps because the New Comment field is also up top and there’s no “up” button to jump to the top of the page to make a new comment when viewing on mobile. - If You’re Just Viewing, Not Commenting…
Instead of “requesting the desktop version of the website,” keep it in standard mobile view, meaning leave it in its natural state of being a responsive/adaptive sizing website on your phone. Turn your phone sideways into landscape orientation. I’ve found that doing it this way, yes, does not show as many comments at once…but, the text is larger and nested replies (what we call “sub-replies or sub-threads”) shows up easier, too, making it easier to see and read people’s responses to comments. I still encourage you to make it so that comments Sort By Latest because there is no z-key on mobile devices to jump to new comments, therefore it’s easier for you to Sort By Latest and have new comments automatically pop up to the top instead of them being buried at the bottom of the screen.
